NSPCC Number Day – Friday 7th February 2025
On Friday 7th February, we are taking part in the NSPCC Number Day to raise money for services such as Childline and Speak out Stay Safe. Last year, we raised £233.50!
We would love the children to ‘dress up for Digits’. It can be as simple as wearing any item of clothing with a number on it. It could be a sports top, cap or even a football shirt.
In addition, Times Tables Rockstars are launching an ‘NSPCC Rocks Tournament’. Last year, our position was 1819 out of 3793 schools that participated. From 7:30am-7:30pm (on 7th February), every correct answer a student makes will contribute towards the class and school total. There is a 60min cap on each player. It would be amazing if we could beat last year’s position.

Roadworks on Mousehole Lane
Please see below the following message from Southampton City Council regarding upcoming roadworks on Mousehole Lane.
Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with Southampton City Council to manage the highways service across Southampton.
We will be installing a pedestrian crossing on Mousehole Lane, near Glenfield Infant School and Beechwood Junior School. We are due to return to this area Monday 3 February 2025 for 4 days to complete drainage works between 7:00am-5:00pm (please see works area below).
The following restrictions will be in place whilst we work on:
• Mousehole Lane – where there will be temporary traffic signals in operation 24/7. In addition to this, there will be a 2 phased footway closures on Mousehole Lane, by staging the closures into 2 parts, we’re able to maintain pedestrian access at all times. During the footway closures, alternative paths will be signed for pedestrians to use, along with temporary pedestrian crossings points to assist people with crossing the road safely.
• Glenfield Avenue – will have a road closure at its junction with Mousehole Lane for the entirety of remedials works, this is to help create a welfare, storage and safety zone for our team whilst we carry out works in the area.
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause. For information on roadworks and journey planning, visit myjourneysouthampton.com/travel, and for up to the minute travel information in the city and updates on this scheme, follow us on Twitter @SCChighways.
